Get to know me

I started my photography journey in high school when I decided to take photo classes at a local college. Originally this decision was just an attempt to get half days at my high school but soon after I started my classes, I realized that photography was my thing! I fell in love with capturing people and the special moments in their lives. The idea that I can take a photo and edit it to emit the same emotions that the people in the photo were having at the time always blows my mind. It’s like creating a memory that can never be forgotten.

I also happen to be a complete softy, so weddings… are kind of my jam. I LOVE love. Seeing two people so happy together and being able to capture every moment of their special day brings me more joy than I could ever explain. My favorite part about shooting weddings is getting to know all of the friends and family and hearing how much they care about the bride and groom. I love creating memories for everyone and especially creating beautiful images of the newly married couple!

What is something you think everyone should do at least once in their lives?
Travel outside of their birth country! It opens up so many doors and takes your mind to an entirely new level.

Which season fits your personality best – spring, summer, fall, or winter – and why?
Summer! I try to brighten the day of anyone I meet, so much so I’ve earned the nickname “sunshine” with a few people. Summer to me is positive and relaxing and that’s exactly what I try to be for other people!

What motivates you to work hard?
Honestly, I find I am a much happier person when I am working hard. It gives me a sense of purpose and that brings me a lot of joy, especially when I’m doing work as great as this!

What is your favorite book to read?
The Alchemist. It’s a book about a young boy on a journey where he learns to follow his heart and it is filled with great advice and reminders for when I’m feeling a little lost in life.

What did you want to be when you grew up?
Little me was obsessed with spreadsheets. I didn’t have ANY information to put in them, but I loved the idea of making graphs and having information. It took me a while to realize I was actually more of a creative person but once I did, I flourished!

What’s your favorite way to spend a day off?
I love the outdoors so hiking or a beach day would be ideal!

What is your favorite quote?
In the book The Power of Now there’s a paragraph talking about how animals would respond if you asked them what time it was, and the quote goes “’What time?’ they would ask. ‘Well of course, it’s now. The time is now. What else is there?’”

What activity instantly calms you?
Meditation. It’s a truly difficult practice to keep up with but even 5 minutes of a clear mind can turn my entire day around!

What do you do on your commute to/from work?
I SING. So loudly it’s as if I’m performing a concert just for myself. It’s like my own little car party!

What is your definition of success?
Happiness. If I don’t have happiness, I don’t think there is much else worth having. Happiness is always my number one life goal.

Which of your personality traits are you most proud of?
My empathy. I really care about people and always try my hardest to put myself in their position. This helps a lot during weddings when the bride or groom starts to feel nervous. I love being able to be there for them through the whole process!

Would you say you’re more of an extrovert or an introvert?
I would say I’m somewhere in between. Depending on my environment I’m either leading the show or sitting in the audience watching it. Caffeine definitely makes me more of a leader!

Kind words

We are just getting back from Mexico, time is still flying! Thank you for the sneak peek, we love the pictures thus far and cannot wait to see the rest of them! You, Brit, and Xavier were truly amazing and we could not have asked for a better team to photograph our day. You guys are so fun and easy to work with and we will definitely recommend you guys to anyone we know who is looking for a photographer! 🙂

Thank you again and can’t wait to see the rest of the photos!!”

Thank you again so much. We appreciate you and all the beautiful photos you were able to get! Gratuity was much deserved after trying to wrangle 22+ people for pictures who have the attention span of a toddler and me and Kev getting hangry towards the end of our single shots. 🙂 We are SO pleased with you and what we have seen so far and are excited to see the rest of the pictures soon!
