For me, photography is a way to tune in to the beauty that’s been around us all along, but we’re often too busy to really notice: the soft golden light the hour before sunset, a knowing glance between two people in love, or the laughter on a child’s face. I love photographing weddings because there’s so much beauty and joy present, as well as so many people who are coming together to celebrate and support each other. I find myself sincerely smiling so many times throughout the day at what’s happening on the other side of my camera.
My love for photography has taken different forms throughout the course of my life… from the dozens of disposable cameras my friends and I would fill growing up, to the hours spent in the darkroom at Columbia College Chicago where I got my Bachelor’s degree in photography, to now having the privilege of capturing people’s most precious memories with SB Photography and Design.
When I shoot, I like to take an editorial approach, which essentially means that I’m here to tell a story about your day that is uniquely yours. From capturing the tiniest of details to the larger than life moments, I want you to be able to look back on your photos and remember how your day felt.
