Get to know me

My love affair with the visual arts started at a very early age. I have always been obsessed with the idea of being able to capture one’s most intimate moments. I still have the dozens of scrapbooks I created filled with photos of my loved ones, my pets, my hobbies, and my aspirations. My experience as a photographer started at the age of 16, when I purchased an old camera from my photography teacher. It wasn’t until college that I decided to fully follow my bliss; I dedicated myself to my passions, my uniqueness, and my art.

It wasn’t long before I worked my way into the SB Photography family. I’ve been shooting with SB for a few years now and I am still unbelievably excited to watch my creativity unfold. I’m here, not only to make you feel radiant, but also to ensure your day flows smoothly.

Photographs are like time capsules – they allow us to revisit a moment that’s departed, a moment that’s impossible to reproduce, a moment that evokes an emotion and makes us feel alive.

I’d be incredibly grateful for the opportunity to breathe life into your most memorable photographs.

What would be your dream wedding to shoot as a photographer?
I have never shot a wedding out of the country, so somewhere exotic is the ultimate dream. The rainforest would be ideal because of how lush the wildlife is. There would be hundreds of guests dressed to the nines surrounded by all the amazing greenery. Those photos would be mind-blowing!

What is your dream wedding as a bride?
I always imagined myself getting married on top of the highest mountain in the middle of nowhere. It would just be my partner, my closest of family and friends, and my dog. It would be casual yet very intimate.

What is your dream job?
I would LOVE to shoot for National Geographic… animals are my passion.

What would your superpower be?
Easy! Mind control. I think that’s the most powerful one, it’s basically a cheat code for life.

What’s the coolest thing you’ve ever done?
My favorite memory in life is when I went scuba diving. There is something completely surreal about being submerged underwater for several hours straight. I felt like Ariel picking through all the shells and pirate ship remains.

What animal would you be and why?
This is not really an animal— but I would be a coral reef. I would live to nourish those around me, and harbor life, love, and support to all creatures.

What would you do with your life if you had no restrictions?
My dream has always been to travel around the world in a van, but with a vet’s office in the back. I would spay stray animals and fund my travels through GoFundMe.

What was your first job?
All through high school I worked at a daycare, so if you have kids then you’re in luck! I can’t wait to have my own, and I will take hundreds of pictures of yours. 🙂

What did you have to give up to achieve your current level of success?
I was actually going to college to be a field biologist when I dropped out to become a professional photographer. Photography truly is my dream job, but I still consider going back to school on the side sometimes. I miss learning!

If you could win an Olympic medal for any sport, real or fake, what would it be?
Parallel parking is actually my secret human superpower.

Kind words

“Thank you so much for everything! We are home from our honeymoon and getting settled back in to the swing of things. Our wedding day was perfect and you both were a major contributor to that! You both were so wonderful and helpful. We can’t wait to see the pictures and know they will be so amazing! And we definitely look forward to a session with you in the future! Thanks again for everything!”

“Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Ugly crying over here! All of the pictures are so beautiful. It’s impossible to choose a favorite! We love all of them!  You and Jessica are so talented and we are so grateful you captured our wedding day!”

“We were looking for creative and quality photos for our wedding on May 28 and met with a lot of different photographers. It wasn’t until we went to SB Photography that we knew we were sold and would book them, before the appointment was over my fiance and I wanted to sign with them, but they insisted that we don’t make an impulse decision and to compare all vendors and choose who we feel would be the best fit for us. I found this to be incredibly professional. We hit the photographer jackpot when we were assigned Matt and Taylor as our shooters, they were so much fun, so easy to work with and they were everywhere throughout the night. Taylor even went as far as falling into a river just to get the perfect shot, now that is dedication! These two are a dynamic team together and we thank you every time we look at how beautiful our pictures came out!”

-Kelly & Jeff

“You both were an absolute joy to work with on our day and working with SB all the way around from booking to the day of was amazing.  Sincere thank you for the print credit, we cannot wait to get our images back and the few sneak peeks on our wedding day have added to the excitement. I’ve definitely talked up SB to every person I know, thank you all again so very much!

Can’t wait to see the pictures!”

“HOLY COW THESE ARE SO AMAZING!! We have done nothing but look at these amazing pictures constantly! We could not be more pleased with what you were able to capture! Between the weather and my not so smiley husband, you girls were able to capture our day so beautifully!

I think we finally picked a canvas and it’s absolutely stunning!!!

Again, we really want to thank you guys for all of your hard work, our day wouldn’t have been the same without you all being involved. These will be something we cherish for a lifetime and we couldn’t be more pleased with what was captured.

(P.S. – Thank you so very much for the print credit!)

Many, many thanks,”

“Our wedding day was made perfect by having SB Photography shoot our wedding and ceremony. We felt so comfortable from the very beginning that they would do a great job – and they definitely delivered! We got so many complements on the photos and we are thrilled to have them as keepsakes forever.”

“Kristina and I absolutely LOVE the photos! We’ve been slowly going through them on a slideshow on our TV, and the colors, details, and everything is amazing! We literally could not be happier with them! You and Xavier had such a smooth working relationship and worked together so well, yet both brought something so unique and imaginative to your shots (we actually, on some of the cool shots, were guessing which of you took it, or found the props, etc. 😊). You’ve already brought Kristina to tears on multiple occasions because she couldn’t believe you were there to catch certain moments when we weren’t even aware of your presence, and is just thrilled how beautiful she looks. We have no regrets whatsoever in selecting SB Photography to be with us that day. You all have been very professional, communicative, your editing is so great, and most importantly you just took so many wonderful photos. Being that we didn’t do much for video, you are responsible for the vast majority of the memories we will have for the rest of our lives! We have some big plans with a lot of the photos, as I’m sure mother-in-law does as well, so soon they will be disbursed, and I’ll be sure to let everyone know to upload in high resolution and tag you when possible. Again, we cannot thank you enough! Maybe we’ll be in touch soon for some maternity or newborn photos! :)”
