Get to know me

I started getting into photography when I moved from Seattle to continue my education in computer science at UWM. While waiting for the fall semester to start, I purchased a nice camera to take along on adventures to national parks around the United States. I instantly became addicted to photography and improving my skill. I brought my camera EVERYWHERE with me. Not too long after camping at a few national parks and posting my images online, Sheryl and Adam asked me if I was interested in tagging along to a wedding. I never thought of photography being a career and definitely wouldn’t have thought about shooting in the fast-paced world of weddings. It was just an insanely passionate hobby and weddings sounded very stressful from others in the industry that I’d spoken with. But I decided to give it a shot and instantly fell in love with it. The ability to capture the happiness and raw emotions made it exciting for me, not hard work or stressful at all! I couldn’t wait to shoot my second wedding and continue this journey.

Five years later and each wedding is just as exciting as the first. I get to celebrate the happiest day of two families coming together and I couldn’t picture a better career! It’s so much fun learning about each couple and their families – it really adds to the story behind the photos.

Any upcoming travel plans!?
I’m most excited for my trip to Hong Kong to visit a friend there and explore all of the sights and enjoy the delicious foods!
 
Where do you most hope to visit?
I’d absolutely love to visit New Zealand, mostly the Milford Sound there 🙂

 

What is a dream you have that you’ve yet to achieve?
I want to reach the summit of every mountain before I die, or at least see them all.
 
What’s your guilty pleasure?
Ice cold Coca~Cola on the rocks 🙂

 

How many cheeseburgers is too many cheeseburgers?
Until you hate yourself… then a couple more 🙂
 What happened on your worst date?
I was taught all about the different brands of sewing machines.

 

If you were forced to relive one 10-minute block of your life again and again for all eternity, what 10 minutes of your life would you choose?
Being on top of Mt. Rainier in Washington State and seeing the world around me from 14,000 ft. up.
 
What’s the best and worst thing about getting older?
The best is becoming more patient, the worst is the bags under my eyes 🙁

 

What is the “holy grail” of your life?
Breathing the fresh air of the mountains!
 
How do you relax after a hard day of work?
